DSP operates 108 shelter beds across four locations, serving clients every day of the year. Our staff delivers direct services and referrals to additional programs, striving to help participants break the cycle of homelessness that affects many in our city.

  • Complete assigned shifts reliably.
  • Participate in mandatory staff meetings and training sessions.

Additional Organizational Responsibilities:

  • Conduct business in alignment with the Mission Action Employee Handbook, exercising sound judgment and prioritizing the agency's and community's best interests.
  • Operate within the framework of the agency's mission, vision, values, and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, restorative justice, trauma-informed practices, and language justice.
  • Uphold respect and dignity for every community member.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Commitment to social justice issues and familiarity with the mission and work of Dolores Street Community Services.

  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, with sufficient proficiency for instructions and basic communication (fluency preferred).
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, email).
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with low-income, homeless adults or in related fields. Volunteer experience and transferable skills will be considered.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Application Process:

Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit their resume, cover letter, salary expectations, and three professional references. We are conducting interviews on a rolling basis until the position is filled. For more information about our organization, please visit our website.
