Quantum Information Consultant

The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a skilled Quantum Information Consultant to help drive advancements in quantum information and quantum sensing devices. Our clients are pursuing revolutionary innovations in quantum system development well beyond the state-of-the-art. The ideal candidate will not only have technical experience in these areas, but will also have experience in managing the execution of technical projects and programs.
As part of our team, you'll serve as a strategic technical consultant to program managers at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), helping to oversee the creation and execution of advanced government-funded research and development programs in microsystems design for quantum information applications. You’ll work with world-class scientists and engineers to identify program goals and metrics that will enable mission success. You will maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assisting with the management of current programs, and facilitating the transition of program deliverables to DoD stakeholders.

You Have:
Experience studying experimental or theoretical superconducting systems, physics, or quantum optics
Experience designing, developing, or characterizing quantum devices in an R&D environment
Experience authoring, editing, and proof-reading technical papers, presentations, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences
Experience meeting target milestones, timelines, and budgets for projects or programs
Knowledge of quantum mechanics, quantum optics, or quantum information theory
Ability to travel at least 10%
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience in a professional work environment or Master’s degree and 3+ years of experience in a professional work environment
Nice If You Have:
Experience exploring quantum networking technologies and topologies, potentially including quantum routers, quantum memories, or quantum transducers
Experience developing or managing programs or projects related to quantum information, quantum computing, photonics, sensing, or position, navigation, and timing (PNT) technologies
Experience performing or supporting government-sponsored research activities
Experience leading and coordinating teams
Experience working with DARPA
Knowledge of the DoD program or project development process
Ability to work on tasks quickly, independently, and collaboratively in a team atmosphere
TS/SCI clearance
Possession of outstanding verbal and written communication skills and an attention to detail
Doctorate degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
