The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a skilled engineer or physicist to help drive advancements in quantum sensing devices for the Department of Defense. Our clients are pursuing revolutionary innovations in quantum system development well beyond the state-of-the-art. The ideal candidate will not only have technical experience in these areas but will also have experience in managing the execution of technical projects and programs.
As part of our team, you'll serve as a strategic technical consultant to program managers at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), helping to oversee the creation and execution of advanced government-funded research and development (R&D) programs in microsystems design for quantum sensing applications. You’ll work with world-class scientists and engineers to identify program goals and metrics that will enable mission success. You will maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assisting with the management of current programs, and facilitating the transition of program deliverables to DoD stakeholders. You'll maintain and leverage technical expertise and relationships in serving clients.

You Have:
5 + years of experience developing and characterizing experimental quantum devices in an R&D environment
Experience with studying experimental quantum optics, superconducting systems, or AMO physics
Experience authoring, editing, and proof-reading technical papers, presentations, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences
Knowledge of standard nanofabrication techniques, including lithography, etching, or deposition
Ability to travel at least 10% of the time
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science
Nice If You Have:
Experience with defense R&D
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possession of excellent organization and client service skills
Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
Doctorate degree in Physics, Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,100.00 to $250,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
