Help Desk Support Specialist

Key Role:

Provide end-user support for a mission-critical system for a DoD client. Work under general supervision and provide account administration and second-tier support to end users for either PC or server applications or hardware. Receive requests for and create user accounts and assign permissions. Troubleshoot user problems to resolve operating difficulties and recommend system modifications to reduce user complications. Analyze, maintain, and review comprehensive documentation for all troubleshooting procedures, interact professionally with clients and exhibit expertise in customer service, and maintain currency and a high level of technical expertise. Interact with network services, software systems engineering, and applications development to restore services or identify and correct core problems. Escalate more complex problems to senior levels, and perform other duties, as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with customer and end-user support

  • Ability to administer application and systems accounts

  • Ability to troubleshoot and support web applications, software, and issues

  • Ability to utilize IT service management (ITSM) tools

  • Ability to use Windows, Unix, or Linux

  • Ability to support rotating on-call after-hours support

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • Ability to obtain a Security+ Certification within 3 months of start date

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cloud architectures

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $42,600.00 to $87,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
