BlueHalo is hiring a primary Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to provide support on a mission critical program in the Columbia, MD area. In addition to your role as an ISSO you will be part of the Program Security Office which supports the program, facility and personnel in many different security facets. Our team seeks problem solvers, innovators, technologists, and operators looking to remain at the forefront of driving meaningful change and make an enduring impact on the national security mission. As a member of our team your work will align the most innovative solutions to evolve and transform how our customers accomplish their most complex challenges. As an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), you will provide support for a program, organization, system and an enclave's information assurance program. In addition, support to the Program Security Office will include knowledge of physical and personnel requirements.    

 

You would like to do this:

  • Providing support for proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
  • Maintaining operational security posture for an information system or program to ensure information systems security policies, standards, and procedures are established and followed.
  • Assisting with the management of security aspects of the information system and performing day-to-day security operations of the system.
  • Evaluating security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information.
  • Performing vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation.
  • Providing configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware, and firmware.
  • Managing changes to the system and assessing the security impact of those changes.
  • Preparing and reviewing documentation to include System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs).
  • Supporting security authorization activities in compliance with DoD/CSS Information System Certification and Accreditation Process (NISCAP) and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Providing support to the Program Security Office to maintain its program security posture.

 

You're required to have this:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience as an ISSO supporting IC or DoD programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Experience is to include at least one of the following areas:
    • Knowledge of current security tools
    • Hardware/software security implementation
    • Communication protocols
    • Encryption techniques/tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four years of additional experience as an ISSO may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level I or higher is required (i.e., A+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+ CE, or SSCP)​.
