Position Summary/Job DescriptionReporting to the Associate Dean of Career and Transfer Pathways, the Associate Director for Career and Transfer is responsible for planning, supervising, assessing, and evaluating the Career and Transfer office. The Associate Director is responsible for leading equity-based services that connect students to major and career exploration in addition to providing intentional career and transfer strategies that meet the needs of a highly diverse student population. The Associate Director will be located primarily at the Journal Square office but will remain flexible in their work location and hours.
Summary of DutiesPrincipal Responsibilities:Partner with institutional research to monitor and measure career and transfer outcomes.Assess the impact of career and transfer strategies through data collection and analysis, recommending and implementing enhancements as needed.Provide leadership for leading and administering services at the North Hudson Campus. Develop and execute communication and marketing plans for incoming, current, and graduating students regarding career & transfer pathways.Maintain effective relationships with deans, associate deans, faculty, staff, and community members to support career and transfer goals.Participate in workshops, meetings, and conferences to gain and share best practices.Stay informed about new career practices, market trends, and technological advancements to offer innovative career services.Establish strong partnerships with employers and four-year partners.Supervise career & transfer team members, managing daily operations, project execution, and staff development through feedback and performance reviews.Supervise the office assessment process, ensuring alignment with student learning outcomes and enhancing student success by monitoring programs and services offered by the Career and Transfer department.Assist the Associate Dean of Career & Transfer with budget development and management.Monitor, update, and maintain the department website, portal, and social media sites.Conduct surveys, assessments and prepare annual reports.Assists the Associate Dean of Career & Transfer in monitoring, coordinating, and evaluating staff functions and professional development.Provide administrative support as needed to the Associate Dean of Career & Transfer.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum Requirements to perform work:Master’s degree in higher education administration, student affairs, counseling, or a related field. Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience in higher education administration, career services, transfer services academic advising or related field. Minimum of 1-2 years of supervisory experienceProficiency in using data analysis tools and software to assess program effectiveness and outcomes.Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation abilities.Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, faculty, staff, and external partners.Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the student population and staff.Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with career services management systems (e.g., Handshake) and student information systems (e.g., Colleague/Ellucian, EAB Navigate).Experience in budget development, management, and fiscal responsibility.Proficiency in using social media platforms and digital marketing tools for outreach and communication.Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.Supervisory experience

Hudson County Community College has three campuses. The largest campus is located at the heart of Jersey City’s Journal Square, which is approximately 20 minutes from New York City. The College has a North Hudson Campus, located in Union City, New Jersey and an additional location at the Hudson County Schools of Technology in Secaucus, New Jersey. The College offers 70 degree and certificate programs and more than 300-day, evening, and weekend courses throughout its three-campus network.

The Nursing Program includes a theoretical base of general education and science courses together with a range of nursing theory and practical courses designed to prepare graduates to be eligible for the New Jersey State Licensure Examination for Registered Professional Nurses (NCLEX–RN).
