Job Summary

Reporting directly to the President of the College, the Vice President of Academic & Student Affairs is a pivotal role responsible for leading instructional programs and policies, serving as the Chief Academic Officer for the College of Eastern Idaho, and overseeing the Division of Student Affairs. The Vice President is a key member of the President's Advisory Council (PAC), advising the college President, and promoting the college’s mission. This role requires strong team-building across multiple departments, a desire to innovate in education, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Typical Job Functions

Provide direct supervision for all academic programming and instructional delivery, including Student Affairs, Online Learning Services, Early College Programs, Transfer Programming, and CTE Programming.Offer strategic leadership in developing and implementing instructional policies and practices that support the College's strategic plan and objectives.Articulate a vision for instruction and student affairs grounded in best practices for teaching, learning, and student support, ensuring alignment with the College Mission.Promote and lead program review, outcomes assessment, instructional effectiveness, student affairs, and accreditation standards.Assess current and emerging requirements for career pathway education and academic transfer programs with partner universities.Encourage innovative use of instructional technology and online delivery to meet regional and workforce needs.Respond to student and public inquiries and complaints regarding instructional delivery and student services.Promote and support professional development for faculty and staff.Seek and encourage external resources and grants to advance college priorities in collaboration with other departments.Engage with external stakeholders, including employers, community partners, and other educational institutions, to foster partnerships and collaboration.Review and evaluate policies affecting instruction and student affairs, proposing new and revised policies as appropriate.Utilize data-driven decision-making processes to continuously improve instructional programs and student outcomes.Collaborate closely with the Vice President of Workforce Development and Continuing Education to ensure cohesive credit and non-credit programming.Work with the VP of Finance and the Budget Office to analyze financials as they relate to academic and student affairs Oversee the development and management of budgets for all instructional and student affairs departments, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic goals.Update campus stakeholders on progress towards enrollment, retention, and student success goals.Champion initiatives that promote diversity among all stakeholders and foster an understanding and respect for all cultures.Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.At least three years of progressively responsible executive experience in managing educational programming and/or student affairs in higher education.Demonstrated experience working with external organizations such as the State Board of Education, Civic Organizations, Accreditation Organizations, and National Post-Secondary Professional Organizations.Strong understanding of federal and state regulations related to post-secondary institutions.Incumbent must reside in the State of Idaho.Additional Desired Qualifications

Earned doctorate degree in an academic field, higher education administration/leadership, or a related area.Experience in a Community College setting.Three years of direct teaching experience at a post-secondary institution and direct supervision of faculty.Proven experience in building industry partnerships to develop workforce programs and fundraising capabilities.Bilingual (Spanish).

Sitting, standing, walking, keyboarding, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, gross manipulations (involves hands) and standing or sitting (combination). Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.

Onsite work is essential and regular predictable attendance is required. Employees may be required to work at occasional events and handle tasks outside of regular working hours. Background Investigations:Employment at College of Eastern Idaho will be contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation and may require a credit and/or motor vehicle background investigation depending on the position.
