Accounting Supervisor

The Accounting Supervisor will collaborate closely with the controller, management team, and employees across divisions to fulfill various responsibilities. This role offers a diverse finance experience encompassing financial reporting, analytics, accounting, project management, and process improvement. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervision: Oversee accounting, credit/collections, payroll/benefits, and human resources staff.
  • Financial Reporting: Participate in compiling divisional financial statements, operations analysis, forecasting, and other reporting requirements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Journal Entries and Reconciliations: Prepare and review/approve journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Inventory Audits: Participate in audits of the physical inventory process.
  • Compliance and Process Improvement: Validate compliance with and develop/enhance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Coordination with Internal Audit: Collaborate with Internal Audit when applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required; CPA certification is preferred, not required 
  • Experience: 4+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Leadership: Prior supervision or leadership experience is preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong time management abilities and highly organized.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in Excel.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
