Job Summary

The Manager, HR Communications supports the development and execution of employee communications strategies that increase employee engagement with HR initiatives, programs, and policies. These strategies nurture a strong employee experience where all our teammates feel motivated, inspired, and empowered. The ideal candidate is exceptional at written and verbal communications and is experienced in managing across multiple communication project plans, tactics and deadlines. This role reports to the Director, HR Communications and is highly collaborative with leaders, peers, and cross-functional teams within the organization. This job is an individual contributor role that does not have direct responsibility or supervision of staff but may directly and indirectly manage the work of other teammates or vendors.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Supports the design and execution of thoughtful communication strategies for key HR and business objectives, long-term goals, and projects. 
  • Approaches communications through the application of marketing/communications best practices, data/insights, employee experience, channel strategies and change management to help deliver effective campaigns and support business objectives.
  • Counsels and supports HR partners and SMEs on the best communications approach to achieve desired outcomes. Manages through influence and builds trusting relationships.
  • Develops rich, relevant content; keeps communications fresh, creative, and engaging; regularly develops and explores new ideas and tactics.
  • Writes and edits Intranet content, digital signage, FAQs, Talking Points, videos, leadership messages, etc. Writes effectively and with appropriate tone for internal audiences.
  • Project manages and executes employee all-hands events and meetings with excellence.
  • Partners and consults across the Internal Communications organization to ensure alignment and the effective dissemination of relevant messaging and materials.
  • Uses data and analytics to assess and improve strategies.
  • Manages consultants/contracted resources as needed, including graphic designers, creative agencies, event planning firms, etc.
  • Event planning, graphic design and video production experience is highly desirable.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent.
  • Six to seven+ years of experience as a communicator.
  • Experience navigating large, complex organizations and working with cross-functional teams; ability to develop effective partnerships at all levels.
  • Highly professional and comfortable interacting and consulting with senior executives across the organization.
  • Experience managing many projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience executing across a range of communication tactics and mediums written, presentation, events, videos, social platforms, digital content and more.
  • Experience in applying change management methodology is desired.
  • Ability to work independently and within a deadline-driven environment.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and 365 applications (OneDrive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Share Point.
  • Proficiency in graphic design applications (Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, etc.) and video production a plus.
