What We Need

2K Global Services is seeking a game audio expert for the role of Lead Cinematic Sound Designer. This position is responsible for working with core game team partners to contribute to and supervise the creation of AAA quality interactive and linear Cinematic audio. As a craft leader on the 2K Global Services team the candidate will help deliver industry leading quality Cinematic experiences and be a major contributor to our audio community.

What You Will Do

  • Accountable for the quality and consistency of Cinematic audio for 2K Global Service partner projects.
  • Create and craft outstanding sound assets to use in interactive and linear cinematics across the 2K portfolio.
  • Identify linear, interactive and hybrid workflow approaches to deliver a high quality cinematic audio experience.
  • Drive innovation in interactive and linear Cinematic game audio.
  • Lead Cinematic audio outsourcing needs ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Develop efficient workflows to support cinematic audio, feature development and localization pipelines.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and refine the audio design aesthetic, as well as integrate audio within the project.
  • Troubleshoot and debug audio issues throughout development.
  • Participate in building a stronger Audio community across multiple studios within 2K.

What Will Make You a Great Fit

  • 8+ years of game development experience focused on sound design and implementation.
  • Proven experience providing Cinematic Audio on multiple AAA titles.
  • Skilled in crafting audio assets using a wide range of tools and concepts.
  • Exceptional understanding of sound design principles and implementation with a proficiency in industry-standard DAWs and related tools such as Wwise.
  • Skilled in audio post-production common practices such as ADR, Foley, and dialogue restoration.
  • Passion for game audio, with an ear for quality, aesthetics, immersion, and a strong desire to drive innovation in audio design.
  • Strong critical listening and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exposure to game development within Unreal or Unity is a plus.

A demo reel showcasing relevant sound design is required for consideration of this role.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $110,000 and $170,000 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
