Are you a visionary leader with a passion for driving impactful projects?   We’re looking for a dynamic Project Director to spearhead the growth of our Project Management Organization (PMO) across the Americas.  In this high-profile role, you’ll take charge of major strategic initiatives, including the relocation of our fine fragrance corporate offices and laboratories in NYC and the multi-year transformation of our Plainsboro, NJ campus.  You will also lead PMO efforts for all non-industrial locations across the region.  Reporting directly to Senior Director GREW (Group Real Estate & Workplace) Americas, you’ll collaborate with the Global Real Estate team to deliver innovative solutions that shape our future. Your key responsibilities

  • Manage and direct multiple projects and project teams associated with transfer of staff and equipment including the construction and refit of new and modified facilities providing suitable alternative locations
  • Successful development and delivery of key strategic projects in the Americas non-industrial portfolio, including all aspects of planning, time, cost and resource management.
  • Manage the phasing and stakeholder communication plans while mitigating any impacts on business disruption or continuity
  • Manage and control of all project costs ensuring successful completion of all program related activities within budget guidelines
  • Work closely with the Finance & Procurement team members to ensure best-in-class approach to creative cash management & achievement of financial objectives
  • Develop and implement an effective communication strategy and plan to support the transition process

This position is eligible for the dsm-firmenich Hybrid Working model, spending 2 days per week in the company office and the balance of the week in a home office.

You bring

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Engineering Project Management or related field as director and / or functional manager with ability to manage remote staff and work internationally required
  • Experience with the building development industry delivering high value facility related projects required
  • Extensive experience in cost estimation processes
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale, complex projects including office and/or laboratory environments, project and construction management experience required. Experience in Campus Redevelopment a strong plus.
  • Experience working in the NYC market, working collaboratively with landlords and labor unions
  • Experience with diverse leadership styles and stakeholder management.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
