Semester(s) Offered: Summer 2025

 

Scope: This position will assist with identifying and implementing process improvements through the application of sound engineering principles. This position will interact with operators, maintenance, supervision, plant leadership and corporate support personnel. In addition to providing support and assistance to all areas of the operation, this position can have ownership of the management of individual projects.

 

I’m interested What will I get to do in this position? 

  • Assist with identifying improvements and optimizing processes through changes to equipment, systems, practices and procedures
  • Assist with identifying opportunities, developing and coordinating plant projects to improve process capabilities, safety and competitive position
  • Coordinate troubleshooting, de-bottlenecking and plant tests with other technical personnel
  • Assist with performing technical and economic evaluations of alternative processes and determine relative costs compared to existing processes
  • Assist with monitoring environmental regulations and performance against regulations
  • Participate in plant safety activities

 

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role? 

  • Pursuing a B.S. degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Completed sophomore year in college
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects and demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Highly motivated and eager to learn
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to relocate, if not local
