Role Objective

To act as the leading project representative on the Installation Vessel, managing the work of the company and its contractors on the Installation Vessel, and ensuring the safe and efficient transfer and installation of WTG components.

Responsibilities
  • Promote a high focus on HSE in all phases of the operation and from all contractors
  • Plan and execute offshore transfer lifts according to approved method statements
  • Coordinate and manage interfaces between contractors on board the Installation Vessel
  • Oversee the planning and execution of marine operations and WTG installation (performed by the Installation Vessel / Feeder Vessel Owner and the WTG Installation Contractor, respectively)
  • Coordinate with other construction packages
  • Act, behave, and lead by example according to company values
Tasks
  • Ensure that the company's HSE requirements are met and the safety management system is effectively implemented on board the Installation Vessel, and that bridging with contractor HSE Plans is effective
  • Participate in regular operational safety assessments / safety walks
  • Plan offshore transfer operations and prepare lookahead for upcoming operations (24 hour, 48 hour, and 72 hour)
  • Ensure work is executed according to method statements and risk assessment
  • Coordinate and align plans with the company's Installation Managers and Onshore Site Manager / Client Rep
  • Raise or review change requests, including risk assessments
  • Oversee and manage company equipment on the Installation Vessel, including planning service / recertification as required
  • Facilitate MWS and CVA site attendance as required
  • Coordinate the work of the main contractors, i.e., the Installation Vessel Owners, Feeder Vessel Owners, and WTG Installation Contractor, and liaise with the contractor representatives on board
  • Arrange daily progress / coordination meetings
  • Report progress of construction activities relative to the program
  • Ensure that an accurate record of activities is kept on a daily basis, and issue Installation Vessel (and Feeder Vessel, when relevant) Daily Progress Reports (DPRs)
  • Participate in daily offshore site management meetings
Decision Authority
  • The Offshore Construction Manager has the authority to direct the contractors on board the installation vessel.
  • The Offshore Construction Manager has the authority to intervene or stop the operation in case of safety or quality issues, or if the approved procedures are not being followed by the contractors.
Deliverables
  • Daily Progress Reports
  • Offshore transfer and installation lookahead
  • Minutes from daily progress meetings
Mandatory Requirements
  • GWO courses: Sea Survival, Working at Heights, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling
  • HUET, STCW 2010, OPITO or BOSIET and EBS (STASS, HEED, or EBS)
  • Medical certificate including Chester step
  • IOSH Managing Safely or similar HSE training
