The Red Bulls play home matches at Red Bull Arena (RBA) in Harrison, New Jersey. The three-time MLS Supporters' Shield Winners are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull for which the team is named. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.
Job Description
The Regional Development Schools (RDS) Manager will be tasked with selling, marketing and operating RDS Residential Camps, Talent Id Centers, GK Wars and RDS Tournaments. The RDS Manager will also support other areas of the RDS Program, specifically including RDS Clinics, Day Camps and RDS Showcase Teams. The position will also be responsible for Residential Camp product and curriculum development, oversight of RDS player recruitment and development, along with working with the Pre-Academy staff to ensure a strong player pathway exists between all RDS programs and Pre-Academy Teams.
You will report to the Senior Manager, Player Development.
Areas that play to your strengths
Roles and responsibilities include:
Program Management:
- Oversight of all program operations to ensure world class program execution of our RDS Residential Camps, Talent ID Centers, GK Wars and RDS Tournaments.
- Assist with the planning and operations of our RDS Clinics, RDS Day Camps, RDS Showcase Teams, and Regional Select.
Administration, Planning and Budget Management:
- Planning and execution of all programs including venue management, tryout planning, onsite program management, coaching staff management and scheduling.
- Identification of key geographical areas of opportunity to run our programs and securing host facilities.
- Develop an annual sales and operating budget for all programs.
- Prepare presentations, proposals and legal contracts for all venues and facilities.
- Manage the program budgets effectively, optimizing resources to deliver high-quality programs and experiences for players.
- Design and implement comprehensive curriculums for each program primarily focused on technical skills, and tactical understanding, with elements of physical conditioning, and mental resilience, tailored to youth players.
Program Marketing and Sales:
- Create and implement a sales plan to maximize program registrations for RDS Residential Camps, Talent ID Centers, GK Wars and RDS Tournaments.
- This will include direct outbound calls to parents, parent coaches and club members along with grassroots player prospecting.
- Track sales performance and provide regular revenue reports.
- Create and implement an aggressive marketing strategy to maximize exposure and awareness of our programs within the youth soccer community and maximize registrations in all RDS and Supplemental training areas.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop assets, e-mail, and social media marketing campaigns.
Player Scouting and Recruitment:
- Day to day scouting and recruitment of high-level youth soccer players from partner clubs for invitation into the RDS Programming.
- Diligent tracking of all players that our involved within our pathway, ensuring that the top prospects are recognized and funneled into our select pathways.
- Build positive relationships with key stakeholders such as local clubs, federations, and scouting networks to enhance collaboration and opportunities for player advancement.
Customer Service:
- Provide world class customer service to players, families, teams and clubs through phone calls, e-mails and in-person interactions.
RDS Coaching Staff Management:
- Management and support of RDS Coordinators and RDS Coaches.
- Recruit, train, and mentor a team of skilled coaches and support staff.
- Directly manage, develop, and support all staff, ensuring alignment and best practices are implemented across all select programs.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively, ensuring that all staff members are aligned with the program’s coaching methodology and values.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities for staff members.
Fan Development:
- Work with Youth Ticket representatives to create experiences and outings for all programs, building the connection to the club for all players and families.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred in sports management field
- In-depth understanding of the youth soccer industry and structure
- Strong communicator and proven ability to deliver presentations to large audience
- Proven ability to scout, recruit, and develop elite youth soccer players
- Business Development – Sales, presentations, proposal writing, contracts, budgeting and financial management.
- Preferred high level coaching qualification and required coaching experience.
