Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician works independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventive, predictive and routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and building fully operational.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Perform needed maintenance on equipment and direct support of production operating needs.
* Evaluate equipment operation and suggest necessary action when malfunctions occur, or improvements are needed
* Participate in planning activities and manage various plant utilities that can include chiller, air compressor, security system & fire protection system.
* Complete process and preventive maintenance work orders. Capture and communicate associated data.
* Maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, hydraulics, motors, pneumatics, automated controls, and pumps.
* Troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment.
* Develop knowledge of electrical and PLC troubleshooting.
* Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed.
* Set up and operate power tools, drill motor, circular saw, welders, drill press, bench grinder, band saw, hand tools and other metal working equipment
* Assist with fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment.
* Comply and participate regulatory, Carlisle, & departmental policies, procedures, & standards (PSM, safety protocols, COS).
* As directed execute projects on an as needed basis.
* Applies continuous improvement tools and processes to every aspect of the role.
* Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

* High School Diploma or GED equivalent
* Experience with forklift driving required

Equipment Used:

* Forklift
* CB radio
* Office equipment (computer, phone, kiosk)
* Computer systems (RFGen)

Working Conditions:

* Activities occur inside an insulation manufacturing Job includes but are not limited to exposure to the following.

* Temperatures exposed to both Ambient/outside
* Nuisance dust, use of chemicals, working with mechanical parts, pinch points
* Noise of industrial machinery
* Fumes from solvent, forklift exhaust and tractor-trailers
* Pinch point on moving mechanical parts
* Heavy equipment operation including forklift and yard tractor
* Typically 40 hour per week with overtime as required. 3rd shift 11:00 PM- 7:30 AM
* Shift is typically Monday-Friday, 1st shift with start/ending times varied, with weekend work required as production, shipping or warehouse needs dictate
* Fast paced 24/7 operation

Travel Requirement

* Overnight travel up to 10%, this will include travel to other facilities and to trainings
