Summary: We are seeking a dynamic road warrior Director of Warehouse Operations and Development to lead and execute warehouse implementations, ensuring seamless integration with client systems and processes. With a focus on project management, client liaison, and process improvement, this role requires strategic thinking, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of warehouse management systems. The successful candidate will oversee cross-functional teams, manage client relationships, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project outcomes.


Supervisory Responsibility: Oversee a team of trained individuals from around the country who will step in to help with new site implementation as well as cross-functional teams from other departments utilized during the new site set up.


Essential Job Functions:

Project Management (50%)

  • Lead and oversee the strategic planning and execution of new warehouse implementations, ensuring efficient and on-budget project completion.
  • Manage cross-functional teams of engineers, IT specialists, and warehouse operations personnel to achieve successful implementations.
  • Continuously monitor project progress and identify potential risks and roadblocks, proactively developing mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders internally and at client sites.

Client Management (30%)

  • Liaise with clients to understand their specific needs and ensure successful integration with existing systems and processes.
  • Identify and lead recovery efforts for critical client accounts experiencing severe operational issues.
  • Develop and execute detailed project plans for client recovery, including root cause analysis, solution development, and implementation tracking.
  • Negotiate with clients to establish clear expectations and timelines for recovery.

Process Improvement (20%)

  • Develop and implement a standardized approach for warehouse implementation, layout design, WMS configuration, and team training.
  • Analyze data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement in both implementation and client recovery processes.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest warehouse technologies and industry trends to ensure project implementations are future-proof.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement creative solutions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and warehouse management systems (WMS).

Special Conditions of Employment:

Employment is contingent on successfully passing pre-employment background check.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in warehouse operations leadership, with a proven track record of successful project management.
  • Extensive experience in new warehouse implementations, encompassing design, technology integration, and operational launch.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams in achieving ambitious goals.
  • Experience in managing client relationships and resolving complex operational challenges.
  • Must be a road warrior with 90-95% travel.
