OVERVIEW: Responsible for the development, execution and measurement of revenue strategies to optimize rooms revenue through major distribution channels, including GDS, Central and/or On-Property Reservations, Third Party sites, Sales and Catering Management and Front Office Systems while controlling market mix and pricing for a multiple branded portfolio of 10 – 12 hotels.  Establish strategies that would lead to leading market share in RevPAR for each hotel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Update and manage selling strategies and product information in all available distribution channels and reservation sources (onsite, third-party reservation providers, call centers, websites, GDS, etc.) for each hotel in assigned portfolio.
  • Optimize RevPAR by analyzing and forecasting demand and establishing effective selling strategies, oversell strategies, and optimal market mix.
  • Work with the hotel key players such as General Manager and Director of Sales, as well as Corporate staff such as Regional Director of Operations and Regional Director of Sales to establish strategies to increase revenues.
  • Work with the Corporate Director of Revenue Management in implementing Revenue Management programs and new initiatives at the hotel.
  • Conduct ongoing competitor price and product analyses to ensure proper rate positioning and product offering relative to competition. Actively participate in all pricing decisions for transient, group, and wholesale segments.
  • Facilitate Weekly Revenue Management Calls.
  • Review of Group Pickup/Block Utilization/ and recommended processes on a weekly basis.
  • Identification of need dates and spearheading potential strategies to overcome deficits.
  • Effectively persuade and train staff on achieving perfect sell outs.
  • Establish and evaluate processes, policies and procedures to ensure hotel is protecting and maximizing revenue in all areas. Present ideas, expectations and information in a concise, well-organized way
  • Actively participate in budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Work with the hotels DOS and Regional DOS to establish strategies to increase group and transient revenue.
  • Contribute to the financial success of the hotel via participation in annual budgeting and sales and marketing plan process
  • Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly revenue management reports and present results from all segments including internet channels
  • Maintain historical statistical data from all distribution channels, in all market segments
  • Continually monitor all pertinent travel related websites to ensure competitiveness in both availability and price
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
  • Assist with owner relations, communications and presentation information as needed.
  • Establish a working relationship with all Digital, Ecommerce and OTA managers.
  • Perform Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Participate on task force and committees as required.
  • Required training by brand or Interstate.
     
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Four-year college degree in business statistics, finance, accounting, revenue management, hospitality and/or equivalent in Hotel Management Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years in Hotel Revenue Management. Multiple Brands preferred, especially Hilton, Marriott and IHG
  • In-depth understanding of tools- spreadsheets, statistical methods for analyzing data.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to identify relevant data and use it to draw inferences with reference to impact on hotels revenues
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, preparation of business plans, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, hospitality law, and long-range planning.
  • Ability to use PMS, reservation and revenue management systems to forecast and implement optimal strategies
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
