Duties

Job Summary:

The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers, and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 650 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, childcare, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.

This position is located in the House Creative Services Department, Customer Experience Center (CEC), Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), U.S. House of Representatives (House). The Customer Experience Center communicates, markets, brands, and delivers customer service to the House community. House Creative Services is a one-stop shop for photography, videography, and creative service needs. This position serves as the Supervisor, Multimedia/Visual Information.

Key responsibilities include handling complex assignments and assisting the Director with/in planning and directing a full range of multimedia services for Leadership offices, Members, and the House community at large. In the absence of the Director, the Supervisor serves as the main point of contact for House Creative Services.

The position has day-to-day supervisory/managerial responsibilities.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

· Oversees the design and production of graphic art and visual materials for print and digital media.

· Applies experience and creative artistic ability in proceeding with or anticipating Congressional Members and/or staff's requirements/desires.

· Collaborates across program areas (photography, videography, and graphic design) to ensure multimedia components are utilized and applied cohesively within projects and productions. Leads colleagues in creating, promoting, and distributing multimedia works.

· Leads high-profile or complex projects or project teams supporting House offices, often in tight-turnaround situations; tracks project progress to timely completion.

· Markets and champions CAO products, services, and strategic initiatives using appropriate communication methods; ensures that messages are clear, consistent, and compelling.

· Effectively utilizes resources to ensure that day-to-day activities and responsibilities are successfully completed in a timely manner.

· Develops and maintains familiarity and compliance with, and established standards for all applicable legal requirements, House Rules, Committee and CAO policies and procedures, as well as specific departmental practices and procedures.

· Oversees the delivery of excellent customer service; maintains and ensures adherence to Customer Experience Standards.

· Maintains and grows trust with high-level customers; ensures customer feedback is gathered, analyzed, and implemented.

· Maintains expert knowledge of House Creative Services offerings; serves as an escalation point for complex requests.

· Ensures that quality guidelines are met, and core responsibilities are properly completed in a timely manner.

· Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and capabilities of employees; provides technical oversight of work on a continuous basis.

· In the absence of the Director, serves as the main point of contact for House Creative Services.

· In consultation with the Director, provides feedback and input on planning issues and the day-to-day functions and responsibilities controlled by, assigned to, or associated with the Department.

· Participates in developing and distributing all related program documents and materials as applicable.

· Works with and promotes a basic understanding of the mission, strategic goals, and core values, towards which all employees should strive to work together as a team to achieve organization-wide.

· Participates in the development, tracking, measurement, and quality control processes for assigned areas. Directly supports/participates in special limited-term projects and initiatives as required.

· Conducts complex analyses, including synthesizing large amounts of data/information to inform organizational decision-making.

· Prepares recommendations for improvements, modifications, and/or enhancements to assure responsiveness to changing requirements. Informs management of unusual problems and unanticipated constraints of resource requirements in a timely manner.

· Assists in developing and implementing workplace policies, standards, procedures, practices, and communication programs as required.

· Provides general feedback, guidance, and recommendations and receives adequate instruction, feedback, and guidance from senior management regarding sensitive and confidential issues.

· Develops performance plans and evaluates employee performance. Implements disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, as needed.

· Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree or specialized training and/or certification in a discipline related to the position or an equivalent level of professional work experience.

· 5+ years coordinating graphic design or multimedia services.

· 3+ years leading and reviewing the work within a creative team and advising management regarding developing policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
