The Sr. Product Analyst plays a key role in the implementation of Optum's next-generation oncology and specialty programs, with a specific focus on prior authorization / utilization management for high-cost drugs and treatments. As such, this role requires a data-driven, detail-oriented, and organized professional who can work in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Use data to drive communication of the oncology and specialty program key performance indicators and value story across client portfolio
  • Support Product Managers in defining how the end user experience should work - translating a vision to business and operational processes and detailed requirements
  • Support Product Managers with major launches of new client implementations and/or capabilities
  • Drive the documentation and communication of the team's product definition. This includes information related to key functions of the team's authorization platform, clinical rules for when to approve which drugs, provider training materials, as well as client and rule configurations
  • Identify and maintain best practices, processes, and tools to support the Oncology product management team
  • Work collaboratively with the IT team to ensure the product is producing value as intended, and according to the development timeline (using Agile methodology)
  • Support clients and internal operations staff with specialty program-related inquiries, and troubleshoot, triage, and drive to resolution of issues or defects

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of program/project management with experience in tracking, planning projects, and working with large datasets to make informed business decisions
  • Project coordination or project management experience
  • Experience using Agile methods to deliver projects
  • Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a matrix environment
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance multiple demands and competing deadlines


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the Health care industry
  • Proven solid analytical skills
  • Proven to be self-motivated, team player, action and results oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence others

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
