About the team:

Field Talent Acquisition is a team focused on helping the field attract and contract qualified talent. Our key areas of focus are talent development, recruiting process, content strategy, and technology. The team is responsible for advancing the field recruiting strategy to drive improved performance results. The technology team is focused on enabling the end-to-end recruiting lifecycle through an integrated technology stack. The team partners closely with other key functions of Field Talent Acquisition to ensure the technology is aligned to strategy and field needs.

What you will do:

The Assistant Director, Field Talent Acquisition Operations leads a team to activate the recruiting lifecycle for the field. The team works in partnership with Product & Engineering departments to deliver a best-in-class recruiter and candidate experience through technology. The leader is responsible for building the vision, the multi-year roadmap, and ultimately executing across partnerships to ensure results are achieved. The role works in continuous co-creation with the field, and is able to clearly communicate what we are hoping to accomplish with advanced tools. The leader oversees field training needs, content development, adoption strategy, and implementation efforts.

How You Will Do It:

  • Designs the full cycle recruiting process and strategy with an exceptional candidate experience to attract and drive new growth of the distribution system.

  • Develops vision and strategy for field talent acquisition aligned to key field priorities, conducts annual planning to set objectives, and leads a team of talent acquisition experts to achieve quarterly business results.

  • Leads a talent acquisition technology operations team to provide the field with the right tools, technology, and content to help attract and onboard talent.

  • Enhances user experience through ongoing management of the field talent acquisition technology suite (ATS, career site and application experience, talent community and referral portal, recruitment marketing framework, new and existing external partnerships and tools).

  • Provides consistent and ongoing training to the field on talent acquisition strategies with an emphasis on technology.

  • Works with agency to drive candidate engagement and acquisition across digital platforms through relevant and strategic marketing tactics.

  • Partners with stakeholders and the field to co-create and deliver a best-in-class talent acquisition experience for both the candidate and field leader.

  • Conducts whitespace analysis to find innovative ways to improve the digital experience.

  • Leverages data to inform business strategy.

  • Enhances field engagement through new strategies, channels, events, and forums.

  • Identifies and executes strategic partnership opportunities to help fuel talent pipeline.

  • Supports the DEI mission and strategy through all aspect of work.

  • Regularly reports performance to key stakeholders and senior leadership.

  • Responsible for annual planning and budget management.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated professional leadership with decision making skills to include managerial experience.

  • Strong project/program management skills.

  • Proven experience and interest in structuring ambiguous business problems and driving to recommendations using facts and analysis.

  • Superior communication skills with experience packaging and delivering stories in PowerPoint.

  • Ability to build cross-functional and cross-departmental team relationships.

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$90,930.00

Pay Range - End:

$168,870.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
