Job Summary: The Athletics Academic Advisor II serves as a liaison between the Athletic Department, undergraduate divisions, and administrative offices of the University. Provides personal assistance to all student athletes. Assists with advising, class scheduling, and registration. Ensures all student-athletes are maintaining satisfactory progress toward their degree and are informed of programs and services that will help them be academically successful. Monitors academic eligibility to compete in athletic events.

Additional Department Summary: Serves as a liaison between the Athletic Department, undergraduate divisions, and administrative offices of the University. Provides personal assistance to all student athletes. Assists with advising, class scheduling, and registration. Ensures all student-athletes are maintaining satisfactory progress toward their degree and are informed of programs and services that will help them be academically successful. Monitors academic eligibility to compete in athletic events. Travels with a designated team.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of academic advising, student success, or student athlete academic support experience; OR master's degree and some academic advising, student success, or student athlete academic support experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ability to work study hall at least one (1) night per week. Ability to work weekends as necessary.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good organizational skills. Basic knowledge in the usage of personal computers, including Word processing.

Preferred Qualifications: Academic advising and/or higher education administration experience. Division I experience. Familiarity with student information systems (Banner, etc.). Knowledge of NCAA/SEC rules and regulations.
