Position Overview: The Athletic Academic Coach offers support in various subjects as required. Compensation is based on subject expertise and teaching experience.

Departmental Insights: The role of the Athletic Tutor necessitates a solid understanding of undergraduate college courses across multiple disciplines, including but not limited to Business, Computer Science, Engineering, English, Foreign Languages, Humanities, Social Sciences, Mathematics, and Natural Sciences. Candidates must be capable of tutoring and teaching course material, as well as guiding students in achieving academic deadlines. Tutors will aid in developing essential study, planning, and time-management skills. All tutors should be proficient in reviewing, discussing, and elucidating course content in a clear, effective, and engaging manner, in addition to conducting review sessions for examinations. The ideal candidate must be willing and able to assist a diverse range of students, including first-year students, continuing students, and international learners. Hourly pay is commensurate with educational qualifications and previous teaching or tutoring experience. Experience as a High School Teacher or College Instructor/GTA is preferred.

Essential Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and expertise in the subject area to be tutored, OR fluency as a native speaker in a foreign language where assistance is required.

Additional Required Qualifications: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required. Availability for at least two evenings per week (6:30pm-9:30pm) is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications: An advanced degree is preferred. Previous experience in college-level teaching is highly desirable. Experience as an elementary school teacher or school counselor is also advantageous.
