Title Returns Administrator Description

Schedule:

Monday through Friday

7 AM to 3:30 PM

Summary:

The Returns Administrator serves as a key internal and external customer support function by specializing in the handling and processing of all customer returns for Van Meter, Inc. (VM). This position successfully works with our customers, sales functions, purchasing agents, and return coordinators to successfully facilitate the return process from beginning to end. Some of the primary responsibilities for this role are verifying return material condition, part numbers, and quantities once the material has been received in returns and issuing credit to our customers when material has been successfully returned to our stock. This role facilitates the returns process and serves return coordinators while exercising good judgment with relative autonomy, and by providing a consistent and reliable level of support in response to dynamic situations and needs. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Process all customer returns
  • Verify return material condition, part numbers, and quantities
  • Prepare documents and material for shipping
  • Enforce the return policy
  • Possess an understanding of and perform the warranty (GMS) process
  • Communicate with customers, account managers and purchasing agents
  • Product put away
  • Assist with Distribution Center duties such as shipping, receiving, or picking, as needed

  • Ability to effectively interpret and enforce company policies and procedures with both internal and external customers

Job Requirements/Specifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • College Education preferred
  • Must have demonstrated computer skills
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs on a consistent basis; lift up to 100 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Knowledge of handheld RF scanner is a plus
  • Forklift operating experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Eclipse or other inventory management programs is a plus
  • Self-motivated, confident, and reliable
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and growth
  • Professional demeanor, appearance and communication
  • Product knowledge and/or industry experience highly desirable
