This role is HYBRID in one of these location, Charlotte, NC / Columbus, OH / Minneapolis, MN / Detroit, MI / Chicago, IL / Pittsburgh, PA / Dallas, TX

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Risk Engineering Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT engineering technologies and principles, coding and automation development, technology risk management, and experience leading a high-performance engineering team. The Risk Engineering Director will be responsible for leading a team of engineers focused on sustainable automation of technology risk controls in a diverse technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and develop a team of engineers with appropriate skills and experience focused on technology controls automation in a sustainable, scalable, industry aligned structure

  • Develop and implement a roadmap for technology controls automation

  • Assess, develop, and align frameworks of automation using industry standard tools/capabilities

  • Set direction and provide leadership for a team of engineers in execution of strategic roadmap

  • Develop and establish measurable metrics to document progress against roadmap

  • Develop and establish a budget and investment strategy aligned with execution of the strategic roadmap

  • Support and foster a culture of innovation

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in various Risk, Cyber, and Technology organizations to ensure completeness and continuity of strategy

  • Maintain industry and technology risk currency to ensure solutions are aligned with best practices

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • 12 years of experience in a technology/risk leadership role, including:

  • Experience with regulatory requirements for financial services

  • Experience with industry specific frameworks such as CIS, NIST, CSA, FFIEC, etc.

  • Experience operating and/or implementing technology risk controls in an enterprise environment

  • Experience in automation tools and coding practices using industry standard tools such as Ansible and Python

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • 15 years of experience in a technology/risk leadership role

  • Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and tools.

  • Working knowledge and experience with Archer or other GRC tools

  • Working knowledge and experience with SPLUNK and Service Now

  • Direct experience with development and automation of technology controls

  • Experience or background in code development.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Professional certifications in technology and/or risk management are a plus.
