Plans, directs and supervises team members in day to day operations. Implements strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability. Ensures customer needs are met, complaints are resolved and service is quick and efficient. Maintains store appearance with a focus on prime shopping hours, product presentation and company standards. Provides support to team members in span of care.

What You'll Be Doing:

In partnership with store leadership, responsible for staffing selection and hiring to achieve staffing needsAttracts, selects, and retains a team that supports the Meijer culture, including valuing Diversity, Equity, and InclusionCoordinates, creates, and builds daily work assignments for team membersPromotes succession planning by identifying development needs for a team member, providing development opportunities and awareness to career growth/promotional opportunitiesDocuments and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning dischargeImplements Corporate processes to achieve goals including stock loss/shrink, margin, profit, sales, and laborBuilds and maintains excellent vendor relations and escalates any known issues timelyEnsure a positive company brand by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.Reviews Customer Survey/Medallia and customer feedback from previous or current shift and communicates with the team on all opportunities and is able to resolve customer concernsResponsible for food safety and workplace safety complianceEnsures team members in span of care are thoroughly trained in all aspects of their jobs and have completed all required trainingMay be asked to join service and run a register/provide overrides or help in any other areas within the store for the overall success of the storeFlexibility to work shifts to support total store operationsAbility to serve as Store Manager in charge

What You'll Bring With You:

High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of retail/grocery/operations management/customer service experienceRetail/customer service leadership experienceCustomer service and product flow experience is preferredA commitment to a diverse culture which fosters an inclusive environment where team members and vendors feel valued and supported.Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members in the organization in a way that provides clear and precise directionDemonstrated ability to resolve conflict and by addressing root cause issues, listen and deescalate customer and team member issuesDemonstrated ability to manage multiple tasksAbility to drive engagement with the team and demonstrate Meijer valuesDemonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all timesAbility to be Duty trained in total store operations and be in charge of the operations in the absence of other leadershipDemonstrated ability to mentor team members in all areas of the organization.
