Aviation is routinely involved in strategic-level contracting valued in billions of dollars annually. Supporting one of the Agency's Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs), DLA Counsel-Aviation has 32 authorized full-time equivalents (FTEs), across five offices providing the full range of legal services. The incumbent serves as a senior advisor and Supervisory Programs Counsel. This position reports directly to the Deputy Chief Counsel. The incumbent is the principal authority and advisor for complex and unusual, precedent-setting legal issues in the fields of fraud, employment and labor law, ethics law, administrative law and fiscal law. The incumbent serves the first-line supervisor to 13 attorneys practicing in those areas of law and assists the Chief Counsel and Deputy Chief Counsel in managing the office.
