The IT Program Director of Applications Commerce will oversee multiple application development projects and programs in the Commerce scope, steering a team of program managers, partner companies and functional teams to ensure successful delivery within a complex transformation environment. Responsibilities
Program and Project Oversight:
•Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple application development projects and programs such as for Salesforce, ServiceMax, eCommerce and others.
•Ensure projects are aligned with the company's strategic objectives and are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
•Monitor project progress, addressing any issues and risks that arise.
Leadership and Team Management:
•Lead and mentor a global team of program- and project managers located in the US, EU, and India, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to succeed.
•Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the team.
Stakeholder Engagement:
•Engage with business leaders, department heads, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure project alignment with business goals.
•Communicate program status, challenges, and successes to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
•Develop and implement strategies for application development and transformation programs that drive business value.
•Prioritize projects based on business needs, resource availability, and strategic impact.
Technology and Process Improvement:
•Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and improvement.
•Implement best practices in program management, software development, and IT governance to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Risk Management and Compliance:
•Identify potential risks related to application development and transformation initiatives and develop mitigation strategies.
•Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and security protocols.
Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
•Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing application development projects and programs in the Commercial domain.
•Proven track record of successfully managing complex, large-scale IT projects.
•Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
•Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
•Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships.
•Experience navigating complex organizational transformations.
Preferred Characteristics
•Master’s degree in a related field or an MBA.
•Experience in the manufacturing industry.
•Professional certifications such as PMP, PgMP or Prince2.
•Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, DevOps practices, and cybersecurity principles.
•Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
•Ability to drive innovation and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
•Relevant working experience with Salesforce and ServiceMax.
