TPC Sawgrass a world-renowned golf club, home of the PGA TOUR and THE PLAYERS Championship, and premier event venue in the Ponte Vedra Beach/Jacksonville Florida area. We take extreme pride in the quality of our food and beverage department and offer our guests a multitude of room options for any party size as well as a sprawling event lawn with picturesque views of the property grounds.

Our banquet business is high-volume and complex with multiple events throughout most days of the year. We specialize in weddings, corporate meetings/dinners, and charity events, but have the space and ability to execute events across the entire spectrum.

We are looking for a Banquet Chef to take ownership, elevate, and lead our banquet culinary team.

This position reports to the Executive Chef and is critical to the overall success of the department. While this is a busy operation, we provide all the resources needed to achieve our goals while ensuring our managers have a healthy work life balance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years of culinary experience, culinary degree preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Ability to be a self-starter with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Creative culinary skills and innovative thinking required
  • Knowledge of the Back of House operations
  • Ability to read and follow menus and recipes
  • Must be team oriented and able to adapt to changes in work demands

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Effective communication with the Executive Chef and Special Events Manager to attain highest member/guest satisfaction
  • Create various menu items and daily specials for banquet menus, which may include garnishes and overall presentation of product for guest satisfaction
  • Maintaining the 5-star quality of food preparation and presentation through active participation in all banquet functions from planning to plating
  • Train and supervise other culinary team members in preparing menu items according to recipe cards and plating specifications
  • Food cost control and inventory

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; kneel; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
