As a Senior Banquet Chef, you will play a vital role in the culinary team, assisting in the preparation of exquisite dishes that delight our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain a well-equipped and efficient work area.
- Inspect and manage food products to ensure only the finest ingredients are utilized.
- Prepare and handle raw ingredients with care before cooking.
- Adhere to standardized recipes to ensure consistency in menu offerings.
- Implement portion control measures to minimize waste and optimize resources.
- Present dishes according to established plating standards.
- Monitor the readiness of dishes for timely service and communicate any delays to management.
- Ensure high-quality food is prepared and served promptly.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations in food preparation.
- Maintain proper food storage temperatures and cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Utilize kitchen equipment safely and according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Report any equipment issues or safety concerns immediately.
- Coordinate with the stewarding team for timely cleaning of kitchenware.
- Return used cooking utensils to the appropriate area and inform staff of any hot items.
- Clean and organize the work area at the end of the shift, returning all unused ingredients to storage.
- Complete all closing tasks, ensuring the kitchen is secure and equipment is turned off.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Promptly communicate any significant issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Exhibit professionalism and courtesy towards guests and colleagues.
- Follow emergency protocols as per hotel guidelines.
- Adhere to safety regulations and procedures at all times.
- Participate in relevant training sessions and meetings.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and equipment.
- Follow hotel policies and standards diligently.
- Engage in recycling and sustainability practices whenever possible.
- Stay informed about hotel updates and changes.
- Comply with the hotel's uniform and grooming standards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year of culinary experience in a high-volume, upscale environment or relevant culinary training.
- Comprehensive understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Familiarity with standard kitchen equipment and its operation.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 35 pounds.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
