**Please note: this is a 6-month contract position** The position will be based in New York and is a full-time contract position (5 days per week) for 6 months.

Job Purpose

Assist in the transformation and creation of descriptive metadata assets for North American digital deals.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Global Operations manages and delivers a world-class global content supply chain on behalf of BBC Studios Distribution and BBC World News. Through our teams based in the UK, the US and APAC we provide the very best in broadcast operations, asset fulfilment, post-production services and data management functions across the globe. We constantly work to streamline our processes, maintain the highest levels of governance and protect our brands, with digital innovation always at the forefront of our focus.

The freelance Metadata Coordinator will assist in the creation or coordination of avails and descriptive metadata for new and ongoing sales deals. They will support the Content and Scheduling Manager, Global Operations in the fulfillment of ongoing sales deals.

Principal accountabilities include:
  • Finding and/or creating descriptive metadata for ongoing sales deals and transforming data to the correct specification.
  • Assist in tracking deal delivery progress for ongoing sales deals
  • Identifying and pulling non-technical assets for ongoing sales deals from various internal systems


Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience

  • Experience working with excel
  • Experience working with/in a content management system
  • Experience copy-editing or reworking written material
  • Ability to take direction quickly and extrapolate on already existing patterns
