Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Asc Director Production Control is responsible for material planning, inventory management, and production control for manufactured products. Will work cross-functionally with all areas including the Demand Management, Sourcing, Field Service, Logistics & Distribution, Commercial, and Finance teams to deliver on overall sales, margin and cash flow objectives

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

General and Task Management

- Plan and schedule production orders in accordance with the demand outlook from the SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning) process
- Ensure reliable lead times are estimated with all material and labor constraints taken into account
- Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
- Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
- Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible
- Deliver briefs, updates and reports as and when required
- Optimize production plan on a daily basis to deliver required equipment from manufacturing
- Help analyze, implement and operate an Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) package
- Manage internal customer expectations regarding timely execution of production order releases release processing of internal documents.

Relationship Management

- Work collaboratively and negotiate and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, supplies and initiatives and advise of impact of change on purchasing and production activities
- Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact
- Attend meetings and update others on issues or concerns, in particular when there is a risk which could prevent the organization meeting customer demands or where there are over capacity concerns
- Support product change requests and review and communicate the impact on capacity plans
- Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and ensure good communications

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Potentially oversee a team of production planners and production control personnel.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university required
- 8 years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing or distribution function
- Ability to mine data from several sources to build actionable reporting using BI Tools
- Excellent Excel skills with proven experience delivering data-driven, valuable insights to executive stakeholders
- Demonstrated competency with cross-functional engagement and collaboration
- Working knowledge of material planning principles
- Proficient computer skills – particularly Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with D365 is desired
- Experience or familiarity with an APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling) package with automation and optimization software such as Planet Together, Aspen or Siemens OpCenter Planning and Scheduling

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

APICS, PMI, PMI-SP or similar certification preferred
