Duties

The BEP is currently in the process of having a new facility built in Beltsville, MD and expect to move to the new facility within the next 5 years. If selected, you may be sent and/or reassigned to the new Beltsville facility. By applying to this position, you understand this potential requirement.

As a Deputy Associate Director of Manufacturing, you will:
Coordinate with alternate facility (DCF or WCF) and implement initiatives including the planning for production processes and acquiring production-related equipment. Lead life cycle management of production equipment and ensure offices have the resources necessary to accomplish goals and objectives. Lead the Manufacturing Directorate in achieving results through a culture of engagement and accountability. Oversee supply chain and inventory management functions and related continuous improvement efforts. Harmonize operating standards and processes with orientation toward consistency at multiple manufacturing facilities to achieve production goals with maximum enterprise-wide efficacies and efficiencies.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized experience for this position includes:
Executing, directing, or managing the areas of manufacturing/production or a related field that supports the manufacturing/production process, ensuring quality products and services through effective oversight and accountability.
Examples of such experience may include:
Overseeing and directing manufacturing/production schedules and multiple projects and milestone reports. OR Providing management of manufacturing/production, through exceptional leadership in accordance with goals, objectives, and strategic planning. OR Providing overall responsibility and accountability for the production/manufacturing assets, personnel, and achievement of the production/manufacturing related business goals. OR Managing and directing manufacturing/production processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. OR Improving manufacturing/production efficiency through continuous improvements, which encompasses root cause analysis and corrective actions, analyzing and planning workflow, process improvements, and manufacturing/production area layout improvements. OR Providing manufacturing/production decision making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements. OR Developing strategic plans for staffing, technology, and resources.
