About the Role

A niche admitted property and casualty insurance carrier with an AM Best rating of A- (Excellent) has a unique opportunity to join their team in a newly created role, Business Development Director, Fleet Transportation Insurance . The company provides high-quality, convenient, and affordable truck insurance solutions. Your focus is on the owner-operator fleet program business, a key pillar of the company’s expansion strategy.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Direct program sales to CFO or VP of Risk at mid-sized owner operator fleets(200 to 1,000 trucks)
  • Lead program sales and marketing initiatives
  • Develop a pipeline of qualified opportunities, using all prospecting and research skills along with leverage existing networks and capitalizing on lead generation through marketing initiatives
  • Lead client sales and negotiations, working with internal stakeholders to develop competitive, client-centric solutions while also in pursuit of achieving new business production goals
  • Monitor evolving market trends and product offerings from competitors to ensure the company remains competitive

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum five (5) years of commercial trucking/transportation insurance experience with an insurance company or brokerage
  • Track record of success originating and selling transportation program business to CFO or VP of Risk at mid-sized owner operator fleets(200 to 1,000 trucks)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the owner-operator business model and related insurance products

Job Specs
