MNS is hiring a Vice President of Construction Management to provide full program leadership of the Construction Management Department, Water Resources Division. Lead efforts to develop, sustain and grow business in the water resource markets, and ensure revenue growth and profitability of same.

Supervisory/leadership

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and monitoring of all operations and key performance metrics/operational efficiency of the Water Resources department.
  • Monitor external business environment for the development of new market segments
  • Use creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unanticipated problems
  • Establish and implement the strategic direction of the department in partnership with company goals
  • Collaborate with the executive leadership group to develop and meet organizational goals while supplying expertise and guidance on projects, operations, and systems
  • Prepare/negotiate/direct/execute client contracts; coordinate and implement sub-consultant work; and, resolve disputes over labor, scheduling, payments, or contract delivery
  • Efficiently and enthusiastically recruit and develop talent/staff of sufficient size and skill to deliver project work and to be a cohesive addition to the company.
  • Oversee the development of standards and procedures to ensure department quality standards are met and maintained
  • Compile/maintain/monitor/budgets (optimizing project execution and workflows) to meet budget/profitability goals
  • Conduct or acquire cost analysis for project pursuit strategies
  • Build, develop/coach, and manage the department/team to deliver a consistently excellent work product
  • Represent MNS at industry events and on social media

General

  • Compile, persuasively present, and explain service proposals to clients to win work
  • Understand and collaborate on the complete project lifecycle from concept to execution
  • Recommend new technology and ideas to improve efficiency
  • Provides program level leadership of Water Resources division of Construction Management Department
  • Serves as Resident Engineer or Construction Manager on projects as appropriate
  • Utilizes highly effective communication skills with internal and client staff at multiple levels, including elected officials to ensure a high degree of quality, timeliness, and profitability
  • Demonstrates effective leadership in resolving obstacles for delivery of complex projects
  • Supervises and directs CM project staff and teams in the Water Resources division
  • Manages projects with efficient delivery and high-quality standards
  • Leads planning and scheduling efforts relating to multiple project integration
  • Guides development of CM subprograms
  • Assists with significant program positioning and proposal efforts
  • Interfaces with Headquarters and Business Development staff to identify and track and pursue business opportunities
  • Visits clients to position for upcoming work
  • Supports business development activities, including preparation of proposals, interviews, and project contracting/setup
  • Other related duties and assigned or required

Minimum Education, Licensure, or Certification Required

  • BS in Civil Engineering or transitional field
  • California registered Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Valid California Class C driver’s license and an insurable driver’s record required

Minimum Experience Required

  • 15 years of industry experience with increasing levels of knowledge, responsibility, and leadership requirements

Other Required Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to learn and utilize Deltek Vision software
  • Interacts well with other staff

Compensation

$225 - $275k plus bonus and equity incentive plan opportunity.
