Position Overview:

The Director of Sales is responsible for maximizing overall revenue for the property through directing, coordinating, training, and supervising the Sales team in all sales related activities, including direct sales efforts, follow up and proper sales administration at all times. Communicate a strategic vision to leadership team and owners. Participate as a member of the hotel Executive Committee.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maximizing occupancy and average rate of priority segments while upholding guest service and accommodations to all guests.
  • Generate new business to maximize revenues and profits and improve the hotel?s performance in the marketplace.
  • Achieve revenue and occupancy goals.
  • Collaborate with Director of Revenue to create and implement packages and promotions to drive traffic to hotel website and enhance need period occupancies.
  • Develop rates, group ceilings and deployment strategies through review of competitive data, demand analysis and mix management.
  • Conduct/attend daily business review meetings, weekly strategic sales meetings, management meetings and other meetings as required/ requested.
  • Direct and manage all group, transient, and catering/banquet sales activities to maximize revenue for the hotel.
  • Research, identify, target and solidify new business.
  • Set mutually agreed upon team and individual revenue and room night goals and target.
  • Develop community and industry relationships.
  • Coach, train and motivate sales team to achieve optimal results in all segments.
  • Create and activate an on brand YOTEL site inspection experience.
  • Enforce individual and team conduct and standards.
