Acting as the point of contact between the development department and the corporate community, The Corporate Engagement and Government Relations Director (CEGRD) will manage a caseload of corporations that can contribute resources to help achieve established annual goals and support the overall mission and vision of The Salvation Army. financial goal and will track all progress with accounts in the donor management software. Bachelor's Degree and/or previous experience working within a corporation as a CEO or High-Level Executive or Five+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience with marked success engaging corporations.
* Experience with and knowledge of the local corporate and government community.
* Excellent computer skills and the ability in the use of MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
* Ability to work productively and effectively with Territorial, Divisional, Corps Officers and Staff, and office administration staff.
* Knowledge of and adherence to Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.
* Must be proficient in English language skills for both reading and writing.
* Must have demonstrated ability to address multiple projects in a time sensitive manner with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Must be well-organized, self-motivated, flexible and possess good people skills.
* Build relationships with top executives, CEOs, and county and state government officials throughout the Division's geographic region and present The Salvation Army's mission and programs to them through office visits, correspondence, conversations, and Salvation Army facility tours.
* Research and identify major corporations volunteer programs, and in conjunction with Salvation Army facilities and programs, facilitate volunteer opportunities through these corporate structures.
* Develop, maintain, and steward a caseload of donors and set annual goals for each account.
* Track all actions with these donors using donor management software.
* Identify corporate foundations and develop strategies in collaboration with the Divisional Director of Development, Partnership Development Director and Grant Writer on most efficient approach to the foundation for funding.
* Work collaboratively with Territorial Headquarters' Corporate Relations department on any relationships or partnerships that may have impact or potential that extends beyond the divisional boundaries.
* Attend bi-weekly calls hosted by the territory with counterparts in other divisions and contribute to the discussion and content.
* Give tours, presentations and reports on Salvation Army programs, facilities and ministry to corporate executives, Boards, Employee groups, Government representatives and Service Clubs.
* Develop and maintain a database of all existing corporate and government contacts and partnerships. Work in collaboration with HAB Advocacy Committee to strategize and cultivate relationships at the government level.
* Identify and develop relationships with substantial corporate executives and government officials that can be approached for advisory board membership.
* Stay in contact and steward the relationships with reports, and through mail, phone calls, texting, email, social media and site visits.
* Provide training and consultation to officers and program leaders.
* Work with Community Relations team to highlight company's philanthropic partnerships with The Salvation Army and for creation of targeted collateral.
* Maintain and manage corporate database.
* Encourage participation from executives, company owners for events and fundraisers.
* Work with the Community Relations team to maximize public relations opportunities with corporate partners and to coordinate social media campaigns when needed.
* Work with corps and corporate partners to enhance Christmas Kettles, seeking corporate volunteers and sponsorship to increase kettle revenue.
* Develop "New" innovative strategies to enhance Christmas Kettles.
* Work with TSA units to create & coordinate engaging volunteer opportunities for corporate employees/partners.
* Attend and participate in fundraising meetings and projects as necessary.
* Travel for donor cultivation, training and for Territorial or National meetings as needed.
