Position Overview:

We’re seeking an exceptional Mobile Platform Engineer to lead the charge in porting our PlayStation-optimized game to iOS and Android. This role is pivotal to our expansion into mobile gaming, where the quality of achievements, downloadable content (DLC), in-game commerce, and localization are critical for success. The ideal candidate will possess a profound knowledge of mobile platform optimization and exhibit a track record of shipped games that demonstrate expertise in these areas.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the porting process from PlayStation to mobile platforms, ensuring performance optimization and platform compliance.
  • Integrate and fine-tune in-game commerce systems, delivering a seamless and secure user experience.
  • Implement achievement systems and DLC management on iOS and Android, aligning with game progression and user engagement strategies.
  • Directly implement localized assets, adhering to best practices for iOS and Android platforms to ensure accuracy across various regions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain the game's integrity and vision while adapting to mobile specifications.


Technical Requirements:

  • Proficient in mobile development languages such as Swift for iOS and Java or Kotlin for Android, with a particular emphasis on performance optimization for mobile devices.
  • Extensive experience with Unreal Engine 5, leveraging its capabilities for mobile development, including an understanding of the nuances between mobile and console/PC gaming.
  • Demonstrated expertise in graphics optimization for mobile platforms, with a focus on maintaining high visual fidelity within the constraints of mobile GPUs.
  • Skilled in HLSL and the ability to craft custom shaders for mobile devices, optimizing rendering techniques to achieve the best balance between performance and visual quality.
  • In-depth knowledge of the iOS and Android graphics APIs and rendering pipelines, with the ability to troubleshoot and enhance performance across different devices and operating systems.
  • Familiar with Apple's Metal and Android’s Vulkan APIs, optimizing rendering paths and leveraging the latest in graphics technology.
  • Experience with profiling and optimizing game performance on mobile, using tools like Unreal Engine's Profiler, Xcode's Instruments, or Android Studio's Profiler.
  • Strong understanding of the technical requirements and submission processes of both the App Store and Google Play Store, ensuring compliance and a smooth deployment of mobile applications.
  • Knowledgeable in implementing adaptive UI/UX designs that can handle a variety of screen ratios and resolutions, catering to the broad spectrum of mobile devices.
  • Proficient in Perforce version control system, to collaborate in a dynamic development environment.
  • A keen grasp of network programming for mobile games, with a focus on optimizing for latency and bandwidth considerations in multiplayer settings.
  • Expertise in integrating mobile in-app purchase APIs and SDKs for monetization, alongside a solid understanding of mobile security protocols to protect user data.
  • Familiarity with PlayStation development preferred.
  • Nintendo Switch development experience is highly regarded.

This is initially a short-term engagement with the potential to evolve into a full-time position. We are looking for an elite developer who will not only transition our game to mobile platforms but also enhance its reach through expert implementation of modern gaming features.
