We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consulting Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a 3-4 month contract within our manufacturing division. This is a unique opportunity to bring your specialist skills to a high-performing, passionate team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of MTBF, FMEA, SolidWorks, and GD&T, and be able to apply these skills to real-world engineering problems. The role will involve developing innovative solutions for complex mechanical engineering problems, with a focus on improving the reliability and efficiency of our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:
As a Consulting Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, your duties will include:
1. Developing and implementing complex mechanical designs using SolidWorks.
2. Applying knowledge of GD&T to ensure precision in mechanical design and manufacturing.
3. Conducting FMEA to identify and reduce potential failure modes in our manufacturing processes.
4. Utilizing MTBF to analyze the reliability of our products and equipment, and devising strategies to improve this.
5. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that our manufacturing processes are efficient, reliable, and cost-effective.
6. Identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement within our manufacturing processes, and leading the development and implementation of these improvements.
7. Providing expert advice and guidance to junior engineers, and leading by example in the application of engineering principles and practices.
8. Preparing and presenting reports on the performance of our manufacturing processes, and making recommendations for improvements.
Job Details
The successful candidate will have:
1. A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A master's degree or higher will be highly regarded.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering within the manufacturing industry.
3. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, GD&T, FMEA, and MTBF.
4. A proven track record of developing and implementing innovative solutions to complex mechanical engineering problems.
5. Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a focus on improving the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing processes.
6. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide and inspire a team of engineers.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
8. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
