HVAC Project Engineer Position

Brian Cox Mechanical is on the lookout for a dedicated and detail-oriented HVAC Project Engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and can support our project managers in the daily oversight of various projects. This role offers the potential for growth into a Project Manager position in the future.

Compensation: $65,000 - $90,000 annually

Role Overview

Project Engineer (PE)

The primary function of the PE is to assist in identifying and mitigating project risks. Our Project Engineers play a crucial role in ensuring project success through their involvement in daily operations. They must be organized and possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and manage equipment and material submittals, ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and addressing warranty concerns.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of project budgets and costs.
  • Administer subcontract documents and coordinate deliverables with subcontractors.
  • Prepare and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), maintaining accurate logs.
  • Ensure document control and maintain job files, updating all relevant drawings, schedules, and specifications.
  • Compile project closeout packages, including manuals, warranty letters, and as-built documents.
  • Generate and distribute precise correspondence and reports.
  • Consolidate meeting notes from various sources into a single document.
  • Maintain archived project information.
  • Follow up on outstanding items from external sources.
  • Assist in change order pricing by gathering necessary information for project manager approval.
  • Prepare tool lists for project managers and foreman meetings as needed.
  • The ideal candidate will excel in managing daily construction documentation, tracking, and follow-ups.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction, preferably within the HVAC sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with Adobe X or higher; knowledge of Bluebeam Revu 2019 is advantageous.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and visual communication skills are essential.
