We have an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineer II who meets the following qualifications:

  • B.S.E.E. with 4-6 years of relevant experience or M.S.E.E. with 2+ years of experience
  • Proficiency in Altium Designer for over 2 years
  • Experience in drafting and modifying electro-mechanical schematics using DrawSight and/or SolidWorks
  • Familiarity with capital equipment is advantageous

FULL DESCRIPTION:

The successful candidate will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Engage in all stages of engineering projects, encompassing design, testing, system integration, support, and documentation of electronic and electrical systems for semiconductor test handlers.
  • Contribute to EtherCAT development.
  • Assist in motor tuning and may require international travel to customer sites as necessary.
  • Actively participate in the creation of technical documentation, including technical requirements, design verification tests, and testing procedures.
  • Generate Engineering Change Requests (ECO) and Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Conduct research for substitutes for obsolete components.
  • Participate in the design and troubleshooting of electronic circuits and wiring.

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate:

  • Hands-on experience with EtherCAT protocol and Beckhoff TwinCAT, including knowledge of CoE (CANopen over EtherCAT) and Simple Slave protocols.
  • Two years of experience with Altium Designer, including schematic capture and PCB package verification during the schematic phase.
  • Some background in firmware development and debugging.
  • Understanding of the physics behind basic mechanical movements (acceleration, jerk).
  • Ability to perform basic electronics troubleshooting using oscilloscopes and power supplies.
  • Capability to interpret electronic schematics and datasheets for motors, sensors, and other electronic components.
  • Strong technical writing skills in English.
  • Quick adaptability to complex PC software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in motor tuning, with knowledge of PID loop operation being a plus.
  • Familiarity with Zuken E3 is beneficial but not required.
  • Advanced electronics troubleshooting and certification experience is a plus.
  • Ability to comprehend datasheets for Operational Amplifiers, MOSFETs, and other complex components.
  • Capability to read and understand technical standards.

Salary Range: $95-115k/yr
