Building Maintenance Technician

LHH Recruitment Solutions is actively searching for an experienced and resourceful Building Engineer to ensure the optimal functioning and upkeep of a Class A commercial property. This role calls for a technically skilled individual proficient in managing building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. The ideal candidate will prioritize tenant safety, comfort, and satisfaction while maintaining top-tier operational performance.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and address repairs for building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
  • Monitor and optimize the Building Automation System (BAS) to ensure proper operation and efficiency.
  • Address tenant service requests promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
  • Conduct routine property inspections to identify potential maintenance concerns and address them proactively.
  • Manage vendor and contractor activities, ensuring adherence to company standards, budgets, and timelines.
  • Support energy-saving initiatives by assisting in the development and implementation of sustainability projects.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including equipment logs, inventory, and work orders.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, building codes, and OSHA regulations.
  • Provide timely support during building emergencies, including after-hours availability as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; certifications or vocational training in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems.
  • Skilled in operating tools, equipment, and computer-based platforms like BAS and CMMS.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics accurately.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effectively engaging with tenants, contractors, and colleagues.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to urgent situations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to [50 lbs].
  • Comfortable working at heights, climbing ladders, and performing tasks in tight spaces.
  • Capable of working in various indoor and outdoor environments and weather conditions.
