**Job Summary:**

The United States Postal Service seeks a skilled Building Maintenance Specialist to join their team. This role involves performing maintenance and repairs on complex building systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough diagnostics and maintenance on physical plant systems, demonstrating expertise in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic functionalities.
  2. Monitor systems effectively and apply relevant testing techniques to ensure optimal performance.
  3. Identify and resolve issues in high-pressure situations quickly to reduce potential disruptions.
  4. Install or modify equipment as specified.
  5. Document equipment failures and propose corrective measures.
  6. Perform preventative inspections to detect early mechanical issues and maintain operational standards.
  7. Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to ensure precision in tasks.
  8. Interpret schematics and blueprints for troubleshooting needs.
  9. Fix and maintain safety systems and equipment related to the building infrastructure.
  10. Work safely at heights and adapt to various outdoor conditions.
  11. Complete assigned tasks related to facility maintenance.
  12. Adhere to prescribed safety protocols and recommend additional measures when needed.
  13. Provide oversight and guidance to junior maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.

Requirements:

Candidates must successfully complete the Postal Service Test 955 for the Building/All Other job group, assessing maintenance knowledge and proficiency.

A valid driver's license is required, alongside a clean driving history.

Estimated Salary Range: $65,000 - $90,000 per year.
