Data Engineer

Location: Las Vegas, NV

Reports To: Sr. FP&A Manager

Job Summary:

The Data Engineer position plays a pivotal role in overseeing the data management and analytical processes within the organization. This strategic position requires expertise in data processing, data integrity, visualization, and analytics to drive informed decision-making and enhance business performance. Knowledge of telecommunications is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement data management strategies, processes, and best practices to ensure the efficient and effective processing of large datasets.
  • Design and maintain data pipelines to continually process and analyze data from multiple sources, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and availability.
  • Create and optimize heavy graphical views, including SCP (Statistical Process Control) and Simple graphical representations, to present complex data insights in a visually compelling and user-friendly format.
  • Drive report automation and version control as necessary.
  • Organize data in a straightforward manner to serve as a reliable source of truth and manage changes or updates to the data over time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data analytics requirements, develop data models, and generate actionable insights to support business objectives.
  • Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to perform trend analysis, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis to extract meaningful insights and trends from data.
  • Implement data governance and security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and team members on data visualization techniques, data interpretation, and best practices in data analytics.
  • Present data findings, reports, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making and strategic planning initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience working in a data engineering or related field.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • High level of experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and tools, such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse Data Engineering, Matillion, Datastage, or other related ETL/ELT tools.
  • Experience working with data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, AWS, etc.
  • Proven experience in data management, data analytics, data modeling, and visualization, with a focus on data optimization, SCP, and Simple graphical representations.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools, languages and software, such as Tableau, Power BI, Python, R, SQL, JSON, or similar platforms, tools, and languages.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and generate actionable insights to drive business outcomes.
  • Excellent listening, communication, leadership, and project management skills to collaborate with stakeholders, team members, and external partners effectively.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data security, and compliance requirements to ensure data integrity and protection. Telecommunications experience is a plus.
