Our client in the financial services industry is looking to bring on a Communications Specialist to the Chicago team on a freelance basis.


Type: Contract (Possibly could go Perm)

Pay Range: $20-22/hr.

Location: Chicago - hybrid preferred

Hours: M-F, 8-5pm CST


Overview:

The Contractor, Senior Communications Specialist will create, distribute, and maintain communications across various internal channels. This candidate will have the opportunity to learn about and support fast-paced businesses across varied industries and grow as a communications professional. This role will partner heavily with internal stakeholders to ensure we translate business strategy and values into people and organizational strategy. As a key member of our team, this role will work closely with the business stakeholders across the firm on internal communications and the parent company communications team.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Draft and disseminate communications that support internal communications strategy.
  • Maintain the firm’s internal content calendar.
  • Partner with the parent company to align on initiatives and support campaigns.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert of intranet portal and support stakeholders with questions and requests.
  • Assist with the planning, production and execution of firm-wide events, such as the Town Hall


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a communications or marketing position


Required Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to create content that drives ownership and change, resulting in a positive impact
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as operating in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple competing priorities
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills are required Technology Savvy with Microsoft 365 and experience working in communications systems is preferred
