Regional Manager


The Regional Manager's overall responsibility is to optimize productivity at the client’s site while ensuring customer satisfaction, compliance with company and government regulations and continuous improvement of operations at the location.


Position Functions:

  • Business Responsibility: Ensure a long-term commercial development of his/her assigned territory
  • Establish a strategic commercial relationship with major clients (develop an alliance for success)
  • Control and oversee commercial offers of clients for assigned territory
  • Participate in regional team’s development and input for hiring
  • Accountable for ensuring the quality of services delivered and for maintaining high levels of client satisfaction across the assigned territory
  • Supervise installation of large projects that will improve the cost of manufacturing, capacity throughput, quality of product, safety, and sanitation at client’s production facility
  • Lead and direct the work of others on the mechanical and electrical installation of sanitary piping and process equipment systems for industrial processing facilities.
  • Work directly with contractors to complete project within the given budget and timeline
  • Ensure compliance and implementation of OSHA regulations, site-specific safety protocols, and company safety policies
  • Responsible for the overall progress of the projects on site as well as the scheduling of the workforce
  • Participate in the preparation of project schedules and provide information on the progress and estimated completion dates of tasks
  • Participate in recurring meetings with contractors and coordination meetings with other stakeholders in the project
  • Collaborate closely with safety, quality, project management, procurement, production departments, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure adherence to client specifications and contractual obligations in all activities
  • Generate and maintain an accurate forecast of projects for client's facility and provide this information on a regular basis to upper management
  • Interface with clients onsite and resolve issues or complaints regarding sales and services
  • Ensure the technical coordination with estimating and engineering and collect relevant data from the field for the completion of project estimates and engineering studies
  • Prepare budget estimates and schedules for onsite installation scopes originating from customer’s Requests for Proposals
  • Management of local and/or project team on site
  • Investigate and identify Technology & Services (OPEX) opportunities to improve operations and/or carry out maintenance for the customer’s sites
  • Participate in developing and maintaining staff competencies in their region


Requirements:

  • B.S. in Food Processing Engineering, Agricultural and Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent OR Associate Degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • PMP Certification, an asset
  • OSHA 30Hr Safety Training Certification, an asset
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience as Department Manager in food, cosmetics or pharmaceutical industry

  • Negotiation skills, sales, and marketing management experience
  • Cost management – be able to monitor and comply with the budget as the project progresses
  • Regulation and Governance knowledge – be aware and respect laws and regulations and how they may impact business


Travel: Yes, required 50% of the time.
