Security Analyst II

Job Description:
The Security Analyst II assesses, plans, and enacts security measures to help protect the organization from security breaches and attacks on its computer networks and systems. Participates in testing and simulation attacks to identify vulnerabilities, testing new software to help protect the company’s data. Identifies, develops and implements security changes and enhancements to address prevention, detection, and remediation of security vulnerabilities and breaches. Monitors and helps enforce the adherence to new regulations and processes to ensure the safety of the Organizations network and computing environment. Responsible for the maintenance, monitoring and support of the information security. Responsible for all aspects of operational cyber security functions such as account management, role based access control maintenance, sensitive information media management, device security assessments, participating in audit activities, completing assigned tasks and research, conducts security monitoring, monitoring logs for intrusion detection.
Required Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of Networking concepts
- Knowledgeable in HIPAA Guidelines and Compliance
- Extensive knowledge of Security concepts, hardware and software
- Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities
- Experienced with penetration testing and techniques
- Knowledge of firewalls, antivirus and IDPS concepts
- Experienced in installing security software and documenting security issues
- Proficient in Windows, MAC and Linux OS
- Experienced in Incident Response and Handling
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work and effectively prioritize in a highly dynamic work environment
- Ability to handle stressful situations and multiple tasks in a supportive role
- Familiar with governmental healthcare laws and regulations pertaining to the information security to include HIPAA guidelines
Required Experience:
Three years of work experience as a Security or Systems Analyst in an IT Organization; preferably in a hospital setting.
Experience addressing security requirements of large, complex business. Experience applying industry standard methodologies to the practice of security. Experience with establishment, application and maintenance of Role Based Access Controls. Demonstrated experience serving as an effective member of the technical and business teams and ability to communicate security concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
License/Registration/Certification:
Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred
Education and Training:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field required.
