We are seeking a highly skilled Electronic Security Technician II to join our team at the Texas Department of Public Safety. Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and maintain electronic security equipment, including access control systems, video surveillance systems, and alarm systems.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of security equipment, including cameras, sensors, and control panels.
- Conduct training and technical assistance to end-users on the use and operation of security equipment.
- Monitor and maintain security systems, including video surveillance and access control systems.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of security projects, including the design and installation of security systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree with a major or coursework emphasis in electronics or computer management systems preferred.
- Minimum of two years' experience performing technical installation of security access control and video surveillance equipment.
- Valid driver's license from the state of residence.
- Working knowledge of Texas Department of Public Safety regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and appropriate levels of proficiency with utilized software and systems.

Ambulatory skills, e.g. stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, balance, kneel, crouch;

Ability to transfer weights of thirty (30) pounds and the ability to work in concert with others to move cumbersome and heavy equipment (up to 200 pounds) safely in a variety of conditions such as steep stairwells and in loading and unloading vehicles;
Driving requirements: Extensive (30-60%); may also be transported by Agency Aircraft.
A DPS employee who is selected for a position in the same salary group and state title as their current position will be transferred with no salary change.
A DPS employee who is selected for a position in their current salary group with a new state title may receive an increase of no more than 3.4% over their current salary regardless of posted salary.
Salary is contingent upon qualifications and is subject to salary administration and budgetary restrictions.
