Security Analyst II

The University Medical Center of El Paso seeks a highly skilled Security Analyst II to join its team. As a key member of the IT organization, this individual will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing security measures to protect the organization's computer networks and systems from security breaches and attacks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular security assessments and risk analyses to identify vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Implement and maintain security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
- Participate in penetration testing and simulation attacks to identify weaknesses in the organization's security posture.
- Develop and implement security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure the security of all systems and networks.
- Monitor and analyze security logs to detect and respond to security incidents.
- Provide training and awareness programs to employees on security best practices and procedures.
Requirements:
- Three years of experience in a security or systems analyst role in an IT organization, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Extensive knowledge of networking concepts, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical staff.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Windows, MAC, and Linux operating systems, as well as security software and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as computer science, information assurance, or cybersecurity.
