Associate Executive Director

Laurel Parc, a luxury senior living community in the charming Bethany Village neighborhood, seeks a dynamic Associate Executive Director for our beautiful community where residents live life to the fullest. This key leader will primarily support the Executive Director by taking part in various planning, quality assurance, and relationship-building initiatives which support the progression, success and operations of all care departments, while ensuring leaders exemplify the core values of our community. The AED will directly supervise all care directors, nurses, implement resident care systems to ensure exemplary care, and oversee state requirements for continued successful compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assures resident care and all services provided meet acceptable standards and follow best practices.
- Assist the Executive Director with all aspects of operations, including quality assurance, reporting, auditing, training & recruitment.
- Provides high-level support to Executive Director including acting as clinical liaison between residents, families and staff as needed.
- Ensures management of care staff is effective and adequate staffing levels per budget and resident acuity. Participates in the hiring, termination and coaching process for employees.
- Oversees and maintains regulatory compliance with all state and local agencies.
- Ensures resident assessments, care plans and service agreements are done properly and timely within policy and state requirements.
- Oversees care directors, managers and nurses of Assisted Living & Memory Care, ensuring appropriate programming for departments and training for leaders and staff.
JOB DUTIES
- Act as a liaison between residents, families and staff for the E.D. while building valuable relationships and providing excellent support and guidance.
- Draft necessary correspondences like agendas, memorandums, minutes, contracts, and other materials including those of a confidential nature while keeping the E.D. apprised of all necessary information.
- Ensure high resident and family satisfaction and a service-oriented workforce, responding promptly to all issues.
- Assist in developing and enforcing various policies, procedures, standards and practices throughout all care areas, and other departments as needed, providing training as needed.
- Directs communication of care needs with residents, family and outside providers; builds and maintains necessary relationships.
- Assures proper documentation that meets standards of practice.
- Ensures proper on call system is in place for adequate staffing levels and proper support of care staff and work environment.
- Ensures all privacy rules and regulations pertaining to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) are abided by.
- Reviews consultant reports timely to include but not be limited to; pharmacy, state licensing, contracted consultants, etc.
- Provides oversight of budget for Assisted Living, Affinity & Memory Care department.
- Ensures care staff complete all necessary pre-service training and continuing education per state regulations and Laurel Parc policy while facilitating some necessary trainings to staff and leaders.
- Provide oversight on move in assessments and readmit assessments.
- Displays excellent communication including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Five years of supervisory experience in Assisted Living and/or senior living. RN or LPN and Oregon Administrator's License preferred.
