Director of Category Sales Strategy

Relate Search has been engaged in a search with our client who is a global CPG organization looking for a Director of Category Strategy to help build out a first-in-class category strategy and insights capability. You will lead a team responsible for influencing sales teams’ category strategies through insights, analytics, and storytelling to help the category win market share. This reports to the VP of Cat Strategy and has 4 direct reports.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead and empower the team to develop comprehensive sales strategies for key stakeholders that deliver Brand sales, profit and market share growth
  • Commercialize brand marketing programs within all channels of distribution
  • Develop annual commercial strategy and channel \ customer DSMP expectations
  • Leads and monitors competitive pricing strategy needs to be reviewed, challenged or adjusted
  • Use syndicated data (i.e. IRI, NPD/Circana, Nielsen etc.) to draw insights to help guide recommendations.


Qualifications:


  • 10+ years of experience in Sales Strategy, Customer Strategy or similar functions within CPG, Retail or B2C company
  • Strong analytical skills using syndicated dats (IRI, NPD/Circana, Nielsen etc.), panel data, consumption-based forecasting
  • Experience articulating DSMP (Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, Pricing)
  • Demonstrated experience commercializing innovation with excellence
  • Experience in live accrual sales environment
  • Demonstrated people management skills
